Born of the people of Israel, but raised in the treasure filled palace belonging
to the Pharaoh of Egypt, Moses was called by God to take His people out of the
bondage of the pagans and to guide them to the land promised to their fathers.
He would become the prophet who, strengthened by faith and the desire for
freedom, and endowed with the power to perform miracles, received from the very
hand of God the Ten Commandments for the people of Israel before the coming of the Saviour.
The entire Orthodox Church lives today following the same commandments.
The attractive text and vivid illustrations teach children that the true
slavery is the lack of faith in the true God, which no wealth can replace or
buy.
